Main Train Station Gorky-Moskovsky

Nizhny Novgorod Main Railway Station, Gorky-Moskovsky, is located in the geographical centre of Nizhny Novgorod, approximately 6 km far from the historical centre and 20 km from Nizhny Novgorod International Airport. A lot of long-distance and regional trains arrive and depart every day. There are immediate connections to all regional trains, underground lines, trams, and buses. You will find taxi stands at all exits of the main station.

Most of the trains to Moscow, Ural, Siberia, as well as to Mongolia and China go through Nizhny Novgorod.

Nizhny Novgorod Main Railway Stations also serves a few international connections (the information is being prepared).

Please note, inspite the city of Gorky was renamed to Nizhny Novgorod the main railway station is still called as Gorky.

International Airport Strigino

Nizhny Novgorod International Airport STRIGINO with IATA code GOJ is one of the biggest airports in Russia and is a reserve one for the flights to Moscow. The airport is located approximately 25 km from the city and connected to it by bus.

Mainly the airport serves the domestic flights (Moscow, European part of Russia, Ural region, Siberia, Caucasus). Also there are a few regular international flights to/from Germany (Frankfurt am Main, operated by Lufthansa). Seasonally the airport serves chartered international flights (Egypt, Turkey, Crete, Croatia).

The airport is connected to the city with municipal transport (bus) that is the cheapest way to reach it. But it is recommended to take a taxi. This is easier and not too expensive. You can also use your own car. There is a free short-time parking and a paid long-time one near by the airport.
